Professor Emeritus Bruno Nettl, the first recipient of the prestigious Taichi prize for traditional music research, is the subject of a new book published by the China Conservatory in Beijing. The book contains a biographical essay, two interviews with Nettl, fourteen short reviews of his publications by a variety of Chinese scholars, and five short excerpts of his publications. The book, which is written in Chinese, is called Nettl and his Ethnomusicological Thoughts in the Eyes of Chinese Ethnomusicologists (Beijing: China Conservatory 2014), edited by Boyu Zhang (a professor of ethnomusicology at the Central Conservatory Beijing).
