Professor William Kinderman has been named a Steinway Artist: “Steinway is the indispensible means of realizing a precious musical heritage reaching back to Bach, Mozart, and Beethoven. These composers did not know the modern Steinway, but they would have delighted in its rich artistic possibilities, which continue to inspire us today.”
This year’s annual Bruno and Wanda Nettl lecture will be given by Philip Bohlman on Friday the 26th of Sept. at 4 pm in Smith Hall room 25. Bohlman will be speaking on the subject of J.G. Herder’s work on nationalism and the Jewish tradition as they relate to the history of ethnomusicology.
